The CAF Amish Heavy Duty Porch Swing is an undeniably handsome, Amish-built chair. As we said at the start, it’s a very basic design. All you’re getting here is a porch swing. There are no fancy cup holders added on or hidden, fold-out compartments. It’s just the swing itself.
That’s not a bad thing. In fact, since there are no “extras” offered here, this swing is a bit cheaper than models that offer those kinds of things. So, if you’re on a budget, but you still want a great, high weight capacity swing, this one belongs on your shortlist.
Before we go further though, let’s do a quick stats review:
As you can see, this is a weighty piece of furniture, so if you decide you want one, you’re almost certain to need some help getting the chair hung where you want it. At 63” wide, even if you’re on the bigger side, this swing is large enough that you and another person will be able to sit comfortably in it. Plus, it supports an impressive 800-pounds of user weight.
Those are all very good things, but perhaps the best feature here is the fact that it is unfinished, giving you the option to paint or stain it in whatever way makes it the best compliment to your home’s existing décor or color scheme. Or, if you’re a fan of the natural wood look, just leave it as it is and enjoy it!
Adjustability, Comfort, and Extras
There are no adjustable features on offer here, except, of course, for the fact that when you hang the CAF Amish Heavy Duty Roll Back Porch swing, you can adjust the height to taste. As we mentioned, there are also no extras on offer. This porch swing is about as basic as it gets.
It’s as comfortable as you’d expect an all-wood piece of furniture to be, which is to say that it’s not bad for short duration sitting. Still, after three hours or so, it’s going to start getting increasingly uncomfortable.
Of course, there’s a simple fix for that. If you want to make the swing more comfortable, just add a seat and/or backrest pad of whatever thickness you desire. Of course, doing so has the drawback that you’re covering the natural beauty of the wood, but if comfort matters more to you, it’s a good trade.
Minor Assembly Required
This porch swing will arrive at your door mostly, but not completely assembled, so you’ll have a bit of work to do in addition to hanging it before it’s ready for first use. The good news is that the production quality is amazing, and the instructions are clear. You’ll have absolutely no difficulty completing the assembly. Then you’re just a few steps away from being able to settle back in your new swing and enjoy.

CAF Amish Heavy Duty Porch Swing Review Conclusion
We really like the CAF Amish Heavy Duty Porch swing, but we don’t quite love it. It’s a good, basic, high weight capacity porch swing. We do feel, though, that it doesn’t offer quite the value punch that some of the other high weight capacity models we’ve evaluated bring to the table. Even so, if you’re on a budget, this is a superb swing you’ll be proud to own, and we do recommend it.
