Are you in the market for a full-featured massage chair loaded with therapeutic benefits?

Are you afraid that any chair you’d find is going to stick out like a sore thumb in your living room?

If you answered yes to either, or both of those questions, then you’re going to love our Human Touch HT 275 review. Below, we’ll go over everything that this chair has to offer to help you on your quest to find the perfect massage chair for you. Let’s get started!

Human Touch Thermostretch HT 275 Massage Chair

Aesthetics. That’s the first, most logical place to begin a review of any Human Touch product.

Human Touch has a reputation for designing beautiful chairs that fit seamlessly with any home décor. Their products simply don’t look like massage chairs, which means that any room you put it in wouldn’t wind up looking like a doctor’s office, and the Human Touch Thermostretch HT 275 massage chair is no exception.

At first glance, it appears to be an attractive recliner. As you’ll see, though, the HT 275 has much more going on than first meets the eye.

Features of the Human Touch HT 275 Massage Chair

S-Track Design

Human Touch HT 275 Review S Track - Chair Institute

The Human Touch HT 275 massage chair is built around an S-Track frame to guide the quad rollers such that they follow the natural curvature of the spine, resulting in an excellent massage experience.

170 Degree Recline

This feature deserves special attention. While the HT 275 is not a zero-gravity chair like most massage chairs today, when fully reclined, the user still lays almost flat on the back just like at a chiropractor’s office or a day spa.

Even though not quite as effective as a zero-G seating, the 170-degree reclined position still has a significant impact on the overall massage experience. The user’s body weight still presses more firmly onto the rollers, resulting in increased pressure. This feature is also what makes the full body stretch (to be explained later) possible.

Hide-Away Ottoman

Human Touch HT 275 Review Ottoman - Chair Institute

The reason that massage chairs look out of place in most homes is because of the leg massage ports. In most massage chairs, the ports are in plain sight, which makes most massage chairs look like a prop from a science fiction movie.

Human Touch takes a different approach. The ottoman folds in on itself, hiding the leg massage ports from view when not in use, which adds to the look of the chair.

Swivel Feature

The HT 275 swivels on its base by a factor of 55 degrees. While you can’t spin all the way around in it, the ability to turn is both handy and convenient, and no other manufacturer offers this feature.

A Surprising Number of Options

The Human Touch HT 275 massage chair features an amazing number of options for a chair in its price range, offering the following techniques:

Furthermore, it offers three pre-programmed massages that run for fifteen minutes each:

  • Refresh – a massage that works your entire back
  • Relieve – a massage that provides relief to the neck and shoulders
  • Release – a massage that aims to release tension on the lower back

If that’s not enough, you can manually select options to create your perfect massage.

Simple Remote

Human Touch HT 275 Review Remote - Chair Institute

Despite the fact that the Human Touch HT 275 offers a broad range of features, the mini-remote is well designed with everything logically positioned. There’s no significant learning curve involved, and you can enjoy a world-class massage in a matter of minutes.

Adjustable Rollers

Although the HT 275 does not come with 3D Body Scan Technology, the rollers can be manually adjusted using the remote. You can reposition the rollers to suit your body shape and type to ensure that they hit your trouble spots. Note that the speed of the rollers can also be adjusted to your liking. Plus, the rollers in the backrest as well as the paddles in the calves can be set independently.

Lumbar Heat

Another feature added with maximum therapeutic value in mind is the lumbar heat, but not in the way you might expect. Where other companies utilize what amounts to heating pads in the lumbar area of the seat, Human Touch uses two columns of heated air that circulate to provide a gentle, but deeply penetrating heat.

Foot & Calf Massage

This is another area where Human Touch excels. Other companies use airbags to deliver a calf massage, and though the results are good, Human Touch’s patented figure-eight paddle massage delivers superior results. If you spend several hours of each day on your feet, this will probably be your favorite feature of the HT 275.

Full Body Stretch

No Human Touch HT 275 review would be complete without mentioning the full body stretch offered by this model.

Human Touch HT 275 Review Stretch - Chair Institute

By combining the 170-degree reclined position with the compress-and-release function of the calf massage, the chair stretches the entire body, relieving pressure on the discs in the spine, offering tremendous therapeutic value.

Pros & Cons of Human Touch HT 275

As you can see, the Human Touch HT 275 massage chair has a lot to offer. Not only does it have a striking design that can blend in seamlessly with your home décor, but it is an amazingly functional chair that offers a tremendous amount of therapeutic value, especially in a chair of this price range.

Having said that, there are a few things that this chair does not do, which are worth mentioning in our review.

Human Touch HT 275 Review Top - Chair Institute

First, there’s no air massage mode, which is disappointing, given how full-featured the chair is on the whole.

Another notable absence is the lack of calf heat to go with the lumbar heat. Granted that this is rarely seen on massage chairs at this price range, but given how much care and attention the company puts into adding features that provide real therapeutic benefit for people who suffer from lower back and leg pain, the omission here seems jarring.

It is also worth mentioning that the chair does not use space-saving technology. To recline fully, it requires about 18” of space between the back of the chair and the wall. A surprising omission, given the care and attention Human Touch puts into making their equipment home-friendly.

Finally, and this is a minor point, there’s no MP3 player support or built-in speakers. This is seldom a deal breaker for people, but it’s easy to see why they opted to leave these features out. Had they included them, it would have made it impossible to hide the fact that this is, in fact, a massage chair, which would have worked against the aesthetic.

Human Touch HT 275 Review Conclusion

We’ve tried to be as comprehensive as possible in our Human Touch HT 275 review, and as you can see, this is a remarkable chair by any reckoning.

Despite the absence of a few features that would make this chair even better, it’s pretty close to perfect already. Highly recommended for anyone suffering from chronic lower back or leg pain, and for anyone who is interested in owning a massage chair that doesn’t look like one.
