Are you on a budget? Looking for a massage chair that covers the basics but won’t stick out like a sore thumb?

If so, then you’re going to find our iComfort IC1114 review very much to your liking.

Bearing in mind that this is a value-priced chair, it has its share of limitations. There are some things it simply cannot do, and it should by no means be considered a therapeutic model.

Having said that, if you’re a hobbyist user and all you want is a good chair that can deliver a solid, basic massage, this is a great option to consider.

We’ll go over everything the IC1114 can do, and a few things it’s just not capable of, so you have all the information you need to make an informed decision.

iComfort Massage Chair Model IC1114 Overview

Before we dive into the specific features that drive and define the model, we have to say a few words about aesthetics.

While the presence of the leg massage ports make it obvious what it is, it’s not so jarring that it is off-putting. Aside from the leg ports, the rest of it is quite stylish and would make a great office or TV chair.

S-Track Design & Quad Rollers

The 1114 utilizes an industry-standard S-Track and quad rollers, which closely mimic the feeling of human hands. This puts it on par with every other top-quality massage chair on the market today and delivers an excellent basic massage experience.

Roller Position Adjustments

While there is no 3D Body Scanning included, the 1114 does have buttons on its included remote that allow you to manually tweak the position of the rollers and adjust the width of the massage field to ensure that they’re hitting the sore spots on your back.

Some people prefer an automated approach here, but it’s not at all uncommon for budget-priced chairs to offer a manual feature implementation on this front.

More Options Than You Might Expect

Our iComfort IC1114 review wouldn’t be complete if we didn’t spend some time drawing your attention to the options this model makes available. The chair offers a total of eleven massage techniques, which is a pleasant surprise, and far more than you typically find on entry-level models.

Massage Techniques

  • Pressing & Rolling
  • Knocking
  • Knocking & Rolling
  • Tapping
  • Tapping & Rolling
  • Tapping & Kneading
  • Tapping & Knocking

As you can see, the designers did as much as they could with the basics. If you’re looking for a chair that offers one or more advanced techniques, then this isn’t the model for you, but we were impressed with this aspect of the chair.

Even better, you can adjust both the roller speed and massage intensity through three levels via the remote.

Unfortunately, there’s a limitation in that there are no pre-programmed massage options available, but again, in terms of a basic massage, there’s a lot to like here.

iComfort IC1114 Review Secondary - Chair Institute

Air Massage Mode

The iComfort IC1114 massage chair has a limited air massage mode, utilizing seven Second Generation Airbags that are centered in the seat and leg ports.

While this is sufficient to allow the chair to render an acceptable calf and foot massage, there aren’t enough airbags to make it anything special or exceptional. Even so, a nice feature addition, made even better by the fact that you can adjust the air intensity via the remote through three levels.

Super Simple Remote

Given the chair’s limited feature set, it should come as no surprise that the remote is not at all hard to use. You can assemble the chair, sit down, and be enjoying your first massage in a matter of minutes. By the second or third time you use it, you’ll have essentially mastered its operation.

Pros & Cons of the iComfort IC1114 Massage Chair

This is a excellent, entry-level massage chair. It doesn’t try to do much, but focuses instead on a small set of features, and works hard to excel at them. In that, it mostly succeeds.

We don’t have any complaints, but there are a few things we’d love to see in a future model upgrade. These are:

  • More Airbags & Foot Massage Rollers – This is the biggest area the chair could improve on, and by adding both, the calf and foot massage would easily become the standout feature of the design.
  • MP3 Support – An easily added feature, much-loved by users. This would give the 1114 a sense of polish.
  • Lumbar Heat – Another easy addition that would further enhance the massage experience.

These are minor additions that we feel would be in keeping with the chair’s overall design philosophy, while keeping it simple.

iComfort IC1114 Review Conclusion

If you’re looking for a therapeutic massage chair or one with lots of comfort and convenience features, this isn’t the model for you. If you’re looking for a low-priced chair that can deliver on its promise of rendering a great, basic massage, then it’s hard to argue against the 1114.

We’d have no problem recommending this model to any hobbyist for home or office use.
