An Overview of the Greyson Leather Rocker and Recliner, by La-Z-Boy

The first thing you’ll notice about the La Z Boy Greyson recliner is that it’s not the best-looking chair on the market. It’s not outright ugly, but you can tell that the design team spent the bulk of their effort on making a comfortable, functional chair rather than something that looked amazing.

If aesthetics are important to you, you’ll find the Greyson to be underwhelming. If comfort and functionality matter more, its lack of striking design features won’t be off-putting in the least.

Actually, its bland design is one of the reasons we gave the model such high marks where aesthetic flexibility is concerned. Because it’s not striking, it doesn’t stand out, which makes it easy for the Greyson to blend in seamlessly with your existing décor, no matter what it might be.

This is aided by the chair being offered in charcoal and java, split-grain leather upholstery. Two color options are a bit underwhelming, but both colors are subdued, earthy tones that make it easy for the Greyson to blend in with your existing décor and color scheme.

A word of warning, though, it’s a fairly big piece of furniture, measuring 43” x 38.5” x 41” and weighing in at 95 pounds, which might make it too big to fit comfortably into homes with smaller living rooms.

Adjustability & Comfort

Put all the factors above together, and you end up with a chair that’s remarkably robust and comfortable. This, more than anything, is what makes the La-Z-Boy Greyson Power recliner such a strong value for the money. 

Storage & Extras

No Assembly Required

This is a surprisingly strong selling point for the La Z Boy Greyson Reclina-Rocker recliner.  

Many of the lounge chairs we’ve reviewed on this site require at least some assembly. While a few companies offer “White Glove” service and professional assembly for an additional charge, the fact is that only a small minority of customers ever take advantage of it, which means that in practice, most people get stuck having to put their furniture together on their own.

It’s annoying. It’s time-consuming. It’s not fun, and Greyson takes all that off the table. It arrives. You put it where you want it, and you sit down. The end. What’s not to like about that?

Pros & Cons of the La Z Boy Greyson Leather Recliner

As you can see in our La Z Boy Greyson Recliner review, there’s much to like about the chair.

The leather rocker-recliner is super convenient in that there’s no assembly required. The chair arrives at your doorstep ready to enjoy. 

It can be ordered in either motorized or manual (lever-action) configuration, and it blends in well with almost any home décor scheme. In addition to that, it both rocks and reclines (in two different positions, no less), and it’s offered by a well-known, well-respected company.

The only two negatives are that it’s not an especially attractive chair, and it’s a bit on the pricey side. The fact that it’s not beautiful actually works in its favor in one respect though. 

The problem with striking designs is that they tend to have a very specific aesthetic that can sometimes make the chair stick out like a sore thumb. That’s not the case here at all. In fact, the Greyson will, in many cases, disappear into the background.

La Z Boy Greyson Reviews Conclusion

Although the La Z Boy Greyson Leather Recliner isn’t the highest-ranked ergonomic recliner we’ve ever reviewed, it’s probably going to wind up being most people’s emotive favorite because it’s offered by such a recognizable brand.

We recommend it to anyone. It might not be the greatest-looking chair ever created, but it’s comfortable and easy to use. While its unobtrusive design won’t win any awards, that can be considered a strength, given the ease with which it will blend with almost any home décor.
