Are you looking for a top-quality massage chair that’s made in the USA?

Do you need something that’s filled with therapeutic features and tons of options, but doesn’t require a Ph.D. to operate?

If you answered yes to either of those questions, then you’re going to love the Luraco massage chair i7. Loaded with features and an array of therapeutic benefits, this is one of the finest massage chairs on the market today.

We’ll go over every feature in the design in the sections below, and we think you’ll agree. If you’ve got the money for a chair at the top end of the price range, this one is almost perfect.

Overview of the Luraco iRobotics 7

S-Track Design

The Luraco iRobotics 7is built around a standard S-Track frame, which allows its quad rollers to follow the natural curve of your body’s spine.

We’d love to Luraco switch to a Hybrid L/S Track frame at some point, although those are still somewhat uncommon. Many other top-end massage chairs use the S-Track, so we can’t count this against the design.

3D Body Scan

Building on the overall quality of the massage, 3D Body Scanning Technology allows the chair to take a scan of your back before each session begins, making subtle adjustments to the position of the rollers.

In addition to this automated solution, the i7’s remote also features controls that allow you to make manual adjustments to the roller positions and the width of the massage field.

Taken together, these two solutions guarantee the perfect massage, every time you use the chair.

3D/4D Massage Technology

This is another technology incorporated into the design for the purpose of enhancing the overall experience. The company refers to this as 3D massage roller technology. However, that’s a bit of a misnomer.

All S-Track massage chairs are inherently 3D since the rollers can move along the X-, Y-, and Z- axes. This technology is something different. As a matter of fact, many manufacturers have taken to calling it 4D Technology, which is why we used both in the header above.

By placing extension arms on the rollers, it allows them to move up to 3” away from the track, resulting in a deeper and more penetrating massage experience. At maximum intensity settings, this comes very close to giving you a deep tissue massage. A tremendously useful addition to the design.

Zero-Gravity Seating

Inspired by NASA, Zero-G seating is yet another technology incorporated into the design of the Luraco Massage Chair specifically to further enhance the overall massage experience.

By reclining you to a position where your knees are elevated slightly above your heart, simple gravity sees the bulk of your body’s weight pressing against the rollers, which allows for an even deeper massage.

We’re always glad to see this feature, but we’d love to see multiple Zero-G seating options in a future model upgrade. One’s fine, but more is always better!

A Staggering Number of Options

You can also order this chair in a modest selection of colors, including:

Black
Chocolate Brown
Cream

Our Luraco Massage Chair review wouldn’t be complete if we didn’t draw particular attention to this feature because the company took pains to maximize the number of massage combinations available.

Starting with the basics, the Luraco massage chair has the following massage techniques on offer:

  • Kneading
  • Tapping
  • Kneading & Tapping

The basics are well-covered, and the chair provides two excellent advanced techniques.

Here’s where it gets interesting, though. It’s not uncommon for back massage recliners to allow you to selectively activate airbags in Air Massage Mode for a custom massage experience. But, it is rare for a model to do the same thing with their roller-based massage, and that’s exactly what the folks at Luraco have done.

From the remote, you can selectively choose from the following body regions:

  • Shoulder
  • Head and Neck
  • Upper Back
  • Lower Back
  • Feet

In this way, you can custom-design your perfect massage experience. Even better, you can further modify it via the remote through six different intensity settings. The total number of combinations this makes available is amazing.

On top of that, the iRobotics 7 offers nine different pre-programmed massage options:

  • Health
  • Soft
  • Quick
  • Night
  • Sport
  • Tapping
  • TV Mode
  • Stretch (which we’ll cover later)

We’ll cover the stretch feature later on in this review, but the one that bears mentioning now is the TV Mode.

When this is activated, it reclines you to a position that’s suitable for watching TV and treats you to a soothing, low-intensity massage. It’s a great way to enjoy all your favorite shows, and an excellent alternative to the built-in music support if you want a change of pace.

Air Massage on the Massage Chair Luraco i7

Again, the company slightly overstates their case here, claiming that their air massage is rendered via the most airbags on the market today.

It has 80 Second-generation Airbags, which isn’t quite as many as the 101 offered by the Inada Dreamwave. Nonetheless, that’s still an incredible number, and the massage you get from this feature is exquisite.

Even better, you can selectively activate airbags by the following body regions:

  • Head
  • Shoulder
  • Upper Arm
  • Lower Arm
  • Hand
  • Hip & Thigh
  • Calf
  • Foot

So if you don’t want a full-body massage, you can turn on just the ones you’re most interested in. Moreover, the intensity can be adjusted via the remote through five intensity levels, allowing for virtually unlimited customization.

Extensive Heat

Luraco Massage Chair i7 Upper Part - Chair Institute

Luraco describes this as “full body heat,” but that’s overstating the case a bit. Nonetheless, the heat function is better in the massage chair Luraco i7 than in most others on the market today, with elements in the lumbar region, the seat, and the footwells.

Even better, you can adjust the temperature intensity via five levels from the remote, making this an incredible feature implementation. This is likely your second favorite feature implementation after the body stretch, which we’ll get to next.

Body Stretch

From a functional perspective, body stretching has the same impact as a chiropractic adjustment. It provides almost immediate pain relief by taking pressure off compressed discs in your spine.

Disc compression is the leading cause of chronic back pain. So, if you suffer from sciatic pain, this is almost certain to be your favorite feature of the chair.

The stretch is fairly aggressive. So, if you have acute pain, you may want to ease into the stretch by enjoying a mild massage with heat before attempting it. Either way, though, this is a superb addition to the design.

Foot & Calf Massage

This feature of the i7 is exceptional. Not only does the calf massage benefit from the high number of airbags in the chair, but the foot massage does, too.

Also, the foot massage is augmented by dual foot rollers and the presence of therapeutic heat. If you spend several hours a day on your feet, you’re going to flat-out love this feature.

Luraco Massage Chair i7 Lower Part - Chair Institute

Extendable Ottoman

The i7 has an extension module on its ottoman that allows it to accommodate users up to 6’5” in height. This makes it an attractive massage chair for big and tall users, who tend to have a somewhat limited selection when it comes to massage chairs that will properly fit them. Happily, this is one of the few that does!

Adjustable Timer

All of the massage options the i7 offers default to a twenty-minute duration and can be modified via the remote in a range from 5 to 30 minutes.

Curiously, the user manual indicates that you shouldn’t use the chair for more than twenty minutes at a time, which makes it strange that they’d allow you to extend the massage duration beyond this.

Note that we have not found even a single instance of users reporting problems about using the chair for longer than the recommend twenty-minute time frame. This makes us think (especially given the timer adjustment range) that the manual might have just been misprinted.

MP3 Support

We have to admit that we were a bit surprised by the relatively weak implementation of this feature, given how strong so many of the others are.

Luraco Massage Chair i7 Brown - Chair Institute

In this case, the chair does offer MP3 support, but you’ve got to load your music onto an SSD card and install it into the chair. This is much more cumbersome than Bluetooth compatibility and not as convenient as USB support.

In any case, the fact that it offers music support of any kind has to be counted as a win. However, we’d like to see the implementation strengthened in a future model upgrade.

Memory Function

Given how cheap memory is these days, we’d love it if this were an industry standard feature. Sadly, very few chairs offer memory slots to store customized massage settings.

The Luraco iRobotics 7 is one of the few that offers this feature with an impressive five memory slots to work with. This is great news, especially given how many possible massage combinations the chair offers.

You don’t have to spend time trying to re-create the perfect massage. Just make it once, save it, and you’re all set! With five slots, you can create a variety of experiences, or keep the extra slots for other members of your family.

Luraco Massage Chair i7 Remote - Chair Institute

Surprisingly Simple Remote

Despite the fact that the Luraco Massage Chair i7 offers a staggering number of features and customization options, the touch screen remote is well designed and easy to use.

This makes it a snap to navigate your way to whatever feature you’d like to employ and create a totally customized massage experience.

The chair even talks to you in response to your commands so you always know what it’s doing. A job very well done by the design team.

Blood Pressure and Heart Rate Monitoring

On top of all the other great features the i7 brings to the table, it even comes with a “Healthcare Device” that can monitor your blood pressure and heart rate, further enhancing its capabilities as a true therapeutic device.

An Impressive Warranty

The Luraco massage chair offers a five-year limited warranty, which is far above the industry standard. The i7 was built to last. The fact that the company is willing to offer such a long warranty is proof of their confidence in the quality of their workmanship.

Pros & Cons of the Luraco Massage Chair i7

There’s really nothing bad to say about the Luraco iRobotics 7. We just felt that the MP3 implementation was a bit weaker than it could have been. Plus, we’d like to see more Zero-G seating options in a future upgrade. However, these are just nits, rather than genuine complaints.

In a couple of places, the company gets a little overzealous in their descriptions and oversells certain features when they don’t need to, but that’s not so much a complaint about the design itself as it is a comment on their (at times) slightly aggressive marketing department.

At the end of the day, this is a top-end chair, with a top-end feature set. If you invest in one, you’re going to love it. For similar massage chairs, check out this review.

Luraco Massage Chair Review Conclusion

The Luraco massage chair i7 only narrowly missed getting a perfect score. It’s a fantastic design with a constellation of powerful therapeutic benefits. Plus, it is user-friendly, to boot.

If you can afford it, get one today. If you can’t afford it, don’t sell yourself short and get a lesser model. Save the money and get a massage chair that does it all. We’d heartily recommend this chair to anyone.
