Best Massage Chair for Tall and/or Big People 2023

The Cozzia 16028 is unquestionably a great massage chair for large person at its price point, but we regard it as the weakest of the four models here, for one reason. It utilizes an S-Track, where the other three contenders on this list are all built around a Hybrid L/S-Track.

There’s certainly nothing wrong with the S-Track design. It is the current industry standard, after all, and capable of rendering a fantastic massage.

The L/S tracks offered by the other models in this category allow the other chairs to give a massage that runs from your neck, down under the seat to your glutes and thighs, where the Cozzia’s rollers stop at about the top of your tailbone.

Even with this limitation, the Cozzia 16028 is still worth a look because it offers some outstanding therapeutic features (most notably body stretching and lumbar heat) into an attractively priced package.

Our second runner up is the Apex Aurora, which is probably one of the best general-purpose massage chairs on the market today, in its price range. If you have a specific therapeutic need, it’s possible that this chair will fill that role for you, but it would be worth looking to see if there’s a better fit for the specific problem you’re trying to address.

For example, if you suffer from chronic lower back pain, you’d be better served by a different chair that’s engineered to address that specifically.

It should be noted also that the Cozzia 16028 and Apex Aurora are quite similar, with the key difference being that where the Cozzia offers lumbar heat + body stretching, the Aurora offers lumbar heat + a Hybrid L/S-Track, which delivers something closer to a full-body massage. So, depending on what features you’re more interested in, you may prefer the Cozzia.

For instance, where the Aurora offers only basic massage techniques, the Cozzia tops it by providing one advanced technique (Shiatsu). On the flip side, the Cozzia only offers a single Zero-G seating position, where the Aurora offers two. They’re both solid contenders, but they’re not quite as good as our first runner up. 

Second, they have one of the best, most therapeutic body stretching routines in the industry. Their Yoga stretch is unlike anything you’ve ever experienced and is far superior to the body stretch offered by just about everybody else in the business.

Honestly, it was hard to choose between this model and the one we ultimately gave the top spot to, because the SM7300 has so many great features.

It would be impossible to name just one or two standouts for this model, so we encourage you to have a look at the detailed review, but here are some of the highlights:

The only drawback to this SM7300 model is its price. It occupies a strange place in the ecosystem. Some would say it’s too expensive to be considered a value-priced chair, but not quite expensive enough to be regarded as truly a part of the mid-range.

Although SM7300 offers exceptional value for the money, it narrowly missed claiming the top spot in this category, being beaten out by another Kahuna design.
