If you answered yes to both of those questions, you’ve probably been frustrated by the lack of options available that are capable of adequately supporting you.

The sad reality is that most mainstream brands make and sell furniture capable of supporting between 250 to 300 pounds. That’s great if you happen to fall in that weight band, but if you weigh more than that, the number of furniture options available to you drop off markedly.

QQXX is a tiny brand that imports its products from China for resale here, so don’t expect much in the way of post-sales support from them. It’s beautiful. That’s the first thing you’re likely to think when you see the QQXX Heavy Duty Bamboo Rocker for the first time, and it really is. The attention to detail is amazing. It manages to walk a fine line between functional and elegance, giving you the best of both worlds without looking ostentatious. It’s the kind of chair that would look great with just about any home décor scheme from casual to formal, which really increases its appeal.

Beyond appearances, though, this chair is built to last and is capable of supporting an impressive amount of user weight. Let’s take a look at some numbers to put specifics to it:

We like most of these numbers. It’s a lightweight, sizable piece of furniture, and we absolutely love the maximum supported weight, but…

Check out the seat height! This is not a chair for taller folk. That’s great if you’re shorter and heavier, but if you’re big and tall, this chair can certainly support your weight. You may struggle to get in and out of it, though, because it’s relatively low to the ground.

Also note that the seat dimensions are good, but if you’re close to the chair’s maximum supported weight limit, you’re almost certain to need a seat wider than 19”. In our view, this chair would be better if the seat was at least 17-18” high and the seat width and depth were closer to 22”, but opinions will naturally vary on that point.

The main thing to note here is that you’ll want to take careful measurements of yourself before buying this one. It may work for you, but it won’t be a good fit for everyone.

Adjustability and Comfort

There is one adjustable feature to talk about where the QQXX Bamboo Rocking chair is concerned.

There’s a pull-out footrest you may (or may not) be able to use. If you’re taller, the footrest is almost certain to be a non-starter for you, although it looks pretty and is still a nice addition to the chair. If you’re shorter, you may find it of value as it gives you a handy place to rest your feet while you’re rocking.

Comfort-wise, this chair is essentially a blank slate. Bamboo is reasonably comfortable to sit on, to begin with. If you want to make the chair more comfortable, you can simply add a padded cushion to the seat, the seatback, or both. The only downside to doing so is that you’ll wind up covering up the gorgeous chair, but if comfort matters more to you, you’ll regard that as a good tradeoff.

An interesting fact about this chair: It’s collapsible. We’re not sure why you’d want to, given how good looking it is, but the feature undeniably adds yet more value to the chair. If you ever need to get it out of the way for some reason, you can, in a matter of seconds, fold it into a nice, tidy package with a small footprint and store it in any convenient corner until you need it again.

Light Assembly Required

If you decide you want one of these, it will arrive at your doorstep in a large box and mostly assembled. It will probably take you longer to get the chair out of the box than it will to get it set up and ready for first use. This model doesn’t come with an expert assembly model, and that’s fine. It would be a waste of money because even if you’re somewhat phobic about putting your furniture together, this one’s a piece of cake and won’t give you any difficulty.

Pros and Cons of QQXX Heavy Duty Bamboo Rocker

We love the look and feel of the QQXX Folding Rocking chair. The details, the rich, warm color, the cute little footrest (whether you can actually use it or not). It’s gorgeous. And it’s surprisingly rugged and durable too, which is an awesome combination.

The only real drawbacks are that the seat dimensions and the seat height aren’t really a good match for the amount of weight this chair can support, which may make it a non-starter for some. It’s also offered by an unknown brand, so getting post-sales support is likely to be an adventure if it’s even possible.

It is supremely well-priced, though, and is almost pretty enough to consider buying one just for how great it looks, even if it’s a poor fit for you personally.
