Do you have children? Have you been looking for a good, high-quality, versatile chair for them? If you answered yes to both of those questions, then you’re going to like what you read in this—our SIDIZ Ringo review.
Buying a chair for children can be tough because most of them grow so fast that if you don’t have a chair that can keep pace with them, you find yourself having to buy something new at least once a year and sometimes more often than that if your little one hits a big growth spurt. Not good.
That’s why we think you’re going to absolutely love the SIDIZ Ringo. Not only is it a sharp-looking, well-designed chair, it’s also specifically designed to grow with your child, which greatly extends its useful life.
Before we introduce you to the chair itself, though, we’ll first take a moment to introduce you to SIDIZ as a company because the odds are good that this is the first time you’re hearing that name.
Believe it or not, SIDIZ isn’t a tiny off-brand with a limited footprint.
This South Korean company is an office furniture powerhouse. The reason you’ve not heard of them is the fact that they’re primarily a B2B (business-to-business) company, selling office furniture to giant corporations, but they do have sales portals that individual consumers can access. And as this chair demonstrates, their consumer products are excellent indeed!
All that to say that SIDIZ has a stellar reputation both for the quality of its products and post-sales service and support.
And that brings us back to the Ringo and whether or not it is the right fit for your child.
The short answer is probably so, and in the sections that follow, we’ll step you through everything the Ringo has to offer, so you can decide for yourself. Even if you ultimately decide that it’s not a good fit, we think you’ll agree that it’s an excellent option and well worth considering.
If your interest is piqued, read on, and let’s take a closer look.
An Overview Of The SIDIZ Ringo Kid Desk Chair
This is an incredibly strong component of our SIDIZ Ringo review. The first thing you’ll note about this chair is that it’s surprisingly stylish and fun. They are offered in three different upholstery colors: mint green, lavender blue, and rosy pink. With sleek lines and soft contours, it has a slightly futuristic aesthetic that your kids are almost certain to love.
Assuming you’re okay with the overall aesthetic of the chair, let’s take a closer look at the numbers that define this model. Here’s a quick overview:
These are categorically exceptional numbers that really highlight the versatility of this chair. Note that both the seat depth and height are adjustable, but it’s actually far better than the numbers above seem to indicate.
There’s a four-step “growth mechanism” built into the design of the chair.
Level 1, the default position, is ideal for children ranging in height from 3.6’ to 4.1’. Step two covers kids from 4.1’ to 4.4’. Step 3 is ideal for children ranging from 4.4’ to 4.9’. The final step is ideal for kids ranging in height from 4.9’ to 5.2’.
As you make each of these adjustments, the seatback slides along a track, increasing the height of the seatback while simultaneously increasing the seat depth.
That’s superb and a lesson in excellent design.
The chair is light enough to allow small children to move it around easily, and yet, it can support an impressive 180 pounds of weight, which is, in the vast majority of cases, more than sufficient for children in the target age range. This makes the chair incredibly versatile.
The SIDIZ Ringo Chair Is Comfortable But Really Shines In Terms Of Versatility
This is probably the strongest component of our SIDIZ Ringo review. We’ve already hinted at the Ringo’s versatility, but there’s more to be said on that front. This model boasts three additional features that really make it an ideal vehicle for growing children.
First, there’s the detachable footrest. This makes the chair perfect for younger, smaller children whose feet may not be able to reach the ground, even when the seat is set to its absolute lowest setting.
When your kids get a little older, it’s easy enough to remove the footrest, allowing them to use the chair normally.
In addition to that, the Ringo SIDIZ boasts a detachable, hot-swappable seat and seatback. That’s huge because both of those components are clad in PU, which looks great but will start to show its age fairly quickly.
As the seat and seatback get cracked or develop tears, they can be swapped out for new without having to bear the expense of buying a whole new chair. Again, that’s huge, and it radically increases the longevity and versatility of the chair.
Finally, you can buy two different variants of this chair. One with a fixed frame that doesn’t swivel at all, and the other that does swivel and features a locking mechanism that causes the wheels to lock when more than 55 pounds of weight are applied.
On their own, each of these is an incredible feature but combined in this way, it just makes the chair absolutely superb. It’s a great example of synergy. The whole is vastly more than the sum of its parts, and that’s fantastic design.
Super Simple Assembly Process
Almost every office chair sold today requires assembly, and this one is no exception. Fortunately, the process is about as simple as it could be.
There are just three steps (four if you count unboxing). Attach the casters to the base. Attach the gas lift to the base. Attach the seat to the gas lift. That’s it.
That’s all you have to do. It will probably take you longer to get the components unboxed than it will to actually complete the assembly, which, again, is outstanding.
Part of the reason for this is that SIDIZ’s production values are quite high, but the other part comes down to the company’s experience.
They’re really good at making furniture, and they understand the market. They know that parents don’t want to have to spend a ton of time getting the chair ready for first use. They want something they can unbox and give to their children fairly quickly, and SIDIZ delivered.
Pros & Cons of Sidiz Ringo Chair
We like everything about this SIDIZ Ringo chair. It really doesn’t have any points of weakness. If you’re in the market for a well-made chair that’s designed to grow with your kids, you’ve found it.
SIDIZ Ringo Review Conclusion
We absolutely recommend this chair without reservation. It’s an amazing design that will serve your children well.
Other Options To Consider
If, for any reason, you disagree with our SIDIZ Ringo chair review and this chair just isn’t what you’re looking for, here are a couple of other options you may want to consider:
Recommended For: Children who are especially fond of a particular sport.
These chairs offer a very different aesthetic. Rather than providing you with a versatile office chair, this one is ideal if your child is especially fond of a particular sport. There are four options available: baseball, basketball, football, and soccer. Whichever sport your child prefers, you can gift them a chair that will mirror their passion, and that’s pretty cool.
If you’re in the market for something a bit more whimsical, then you can do a lot worse than the “shaggy dog” chairs, also offered by Flash Furniture.
These are significantly less expensive than the chair we just talked about, and they lack any means of growing with your child. On the other hand, they’re inordinately cute and delightfully inexpensive, so when it’s time to upgrade to something bigger, it’s a minor expense to do so.
