Are you in the market for a new office chair for work or gaming? When you find one, do you plan to spend significant time in it?
If you answered yes to either of those questions, you will like what you read in this—our SIDIZ T50 review.
If you haven’t heard of SIDIZ, you’re not alone. Although South Korean companies are powerhouses in the office furniture market, they mostly sell to major corporations, so individual buyers may not be familiar with them.
Some of the biggest companies on the planet place huge orders with them, though, and the company has sold so many chairs that if you stacked them on top of each other, they’d be taller than Mount Everest! All that to say, SIDIZ knows how to build a good office chair, and they’ve got an excellent reputation. Chairs made by SIDIZ are exceptional and impressive.
What matters, though, is answering the question, ‘Is the SIDIZ T50 highly adjustable ergonomic office chair right for me?’
In the sections following this review, we’ll walk you through everything the T50 SIDIZ offers. Then, you’ll have all the details at your fingertips and can decide if this is your new best friend or if your search for the “right” office chair must continue. If that sounds good, read on, and let’s see what this model offers.
SIDIZ T50 Ergonomic Swivel Chair Key Features
This is a strong component of our SIDIZ T50 review. There’s a lot to like here, and it’s worth mentioning that even though we’re not huge fans of mesh chairs.
All it takes is a glance at the SIDIZ T50 chair to understand that this model’s design team has an eye for aesthetics. It’s a good-looking chair with graceful lines. That’s a hard thing to pull off because, in our view, the mesh seatback works very much against it, but somehow SIDIZ manages to pull it off.
It’s also worth mentioning that there’s a purpose behind the graceful lines of the seatback. It looks nice, but aesthetics aren’t why it’s designed that way. The seatback has a built-in S-Curve that follows the natural shape of your spine, so sitting in it is more comfortable than sitting in a simple, straight-backed chair.
That’s big, and although we’re not huge fans of mesh, we will admit that it’s a good choice for chairs that see moderate to heavy use because it’s so breathable.
The T50 office chair offers the best of both worlds. While the seatback is mesh, the seat is clad in fabric, stretched over generous amounts of block foam padding. You can order yours with black, grey, or blue fabric covering the seat.
Regarding padding, there’s enough present to make sitting in the chair for short to medium durations a delight. But if you’re buying this chair for heavy daily use, you’ll probably want to invest in additional padding or perhaps even a memory foam pad to augment what the chair brings to the equation.
Try it as is first, but don’t be surprised if you need more, especially if you spend 8+ hours a day in the chair.
Chair Specifications
Talking about the overall look of the T50 will only take us so far, though. To get a feel for what this chair offers prospective buyers, we’ve got to take a closer look at the raw numbers that drive and define the design, so here they are:
These numbers are fantastic and work together to create an incredibly strong whole. One of the first things we noticed from the above numbers was that the seat depth is variable. This is a cool feature you don’t find offered on many chairs, increasing the chair’s versatility.
Depending on your body shape, the default 19.2” seat depth may be insufficient, but the SIDIZ T50 air chair offers a quick, convenient fix.
Also, note the seat height range. Anything over 18.5” begins to stray into the big and tall territory. This seat starts a bit below that and extends well into that range, a fantastic feature that makes this chair useful to various people.
The only thing that works somewhat against it here is the supported weight limit. At 300 pounds, the T50 is strictly average, and if you’re a big and tall person, you may weigh significantly more than this chair can support. If so, no matter how much you love this model, it just does not work for you.
Having said that, given the numbers above, this chair can accommodate some 85%-90% of the office chair market, giving it an incredibly broad base of appeal.
We feel the seat width is a bit narrow, but it still should be fine for most people in the 300-pound or less-weight range. Even so, you’ll want to take a quick measurement to ensure you’re a good fit for the chair before spending money on it. Better yet, if there’s a showroom near where you live, give it a test sit!
We’ll leave this section so we can move to talk about the area where the T50 shines…
Reasonably Comfortable and Adjustable
This is hands down the strongest element of our SIDIZ T50 review. We’ve already discussed comfort in this chair, so we won’t repeat that here, but there’s a lot to say about its adjustability.
We’ve seen a couple of these features already. We know the seat height adjustment range, and this chair is one of only a handful on the market that allows you to adjust the seat depth. Both of those are good, but this chair offers so much more.
For instance, it features a five-setting recline feature. Setting 1 is a 0-degree angle of recline. If you select the second setting, you’ll recline back by a maximum of six degrees. Choose setting three, and you’ll recline back to a maximum of 13 degrees.
Setting four allows you to recline to a maximum of 19 degrees, and setting five allows you to recline to 25 degrees.
In addition, owners of this chair can adjust the recline tension, which is the amount of pressure you must exert on the seatback to get the chair to recline.
This is a great feature and well worth experimenting with, as it lets you customize and personalize how the chair behaves for you.
As if that weren’t enough, this chair also boasts two different lumbar support levels and allows you to manually adjust the height of the lumbar support bridge built into the back of the seat. This is another cool feature because everyone’s body is shaped differently, and what works as lumbar support for me may be wildly off the mark for you.
The best thing about this feature is the fact that it’s a delightfully simple design. There’s nothing complex or over-engineered here. The SIDIZ T50 light chair offers a simple solution to a common and fairly complex problem. That’s a good design.
Has A Cool Extra To Talk About
The dividing line here is a little hazy sometimes. Are the 3D adjustable armrests a part of the comfort and adjustability, or does it make more sense to talk about them as an extra?
Ultimately, we decided to call this feature an extra because the company went out of its way to improve the design of its armrests. In our view, this is probably the single coolest aspect of this design.
Not only are the armrests themselves padded and ergonomically sculpted, but they’re also height and width-adjustable. You can change the angle of the armrests at will, too, making the T50’s armrests among the most adjustable we’ve ever seen.
In addition, this chair has a headrest that you can adjust for both height and angle, giving it more adjustable features than just about anything else on the market today.
Some Assembly Is Required
This probably won’t come as a shock since most of the office chairs sold today don’t come assembled, but if you decide you want one of these, it will arrive at your door in a large box, and you’ll have to spend a bit of time putting it together.
The good news is that SIDIZ’s production values are quite high, and all the pieces perfectly fit together. Even better, the assembly instructions we’ve linked above are quite clear. Since you’ve already accessed them, you can mentally plan the assembly before the chair arrives.
Expect it to take about twenty minutes from start to finish, and you can likely shave time off of that if you have an extra pair of hands helping out with the assembly. That’s not painless, but it’s not bad either.
Pros & Cons of Sidiz T50 Home Office Desk Chair
From a technical standpoint, there’s nothing at all wrong with this design. We made a minor quibble earlier about the seat width being a bit too narrow for people at the top end of the supported weight range, but honestly, that’s not something that will impact many potential buyers.
Mostly, then, it’s going to come down to personal preference. How much do you like mesh office chairs? If you’re a fan, this is a great choice and an incredibly adjustable chair. If you’re not, then it won’t matter how many bells and whistles it offers; you will just not be impressed.
SIDIZ T50 Review Conclusion
In our view, this is a fairly self-selecting chair. It’s a very versatile design that can work for most of the market, and it’s well-priced. Ultimately, it comes down to whether or not you like the design enough to buy one.
Some people (the author of this review included) don’t like mesh chairs. We grudgingly admit that they’re good for moderate to heavy daily use because they’re so breathable, but in our view, durable fabric is too, and it looks better.
If you have a different opinion, you’ll probably love this chair. We recommend it provisionally for anyone 300 pounds or less who likes the versatility of mesh.
Other Options To Consider
If you’re not completely convinced that the T50 is the right chair for you, here are a couple of other options you may want to consider:
Recommended For: Users weighing up to 250 pounds.
If you’re not a fan of mesh chairs but are looking for something similar to what the T50 offers, this might be a good option. It’s less expensive, so you’ll save some money but lose some of the insane adjustability that the chair we just talked about offers. If you’re not a mesh fan, that might be a good trade, and this is a sharp-looking chair.
There’s the Flash Furniture Herc in the chairs designed for heavy daily use, and then there are toys.
Every other office chair you’ve ever owned will feel like a toy when you sit in this monster. It’s big. It’s a hulking brute, and it’s made of solid steel.
Indeed, it’s not as pretty as some models out there, and it lacks some of the more advanced features and isn’t nearly as adjustable as the chair we just talked about, but if you’re looking for a chair big and comfortable enough to spend 8, 10, or 12+ hours a day in, this is the one you want. This chair is a tank. It can stand up to just about anything.
