At first glance, it only appears to have three components, not four. The fourth is the actual corner bench, which is substantially smaller than the other two, and of course, the set is rounded out via the inclusion of a table. Here are the dimensions and other stats of the various pieces on offer:

These are mostly good numbers. The only one we really have an issue with is the seat height. Normally, big and tall furniture has a seat height that starts at 18” and goes to 22” or more. This set isn’t even close, which paints it as furniture designed for heavier, shorter people, which more narrowly targets the set.

If you are taller, as long as you leave yourself room to stretch your legs out in front of you, you can still make use of this set, but it’s certainly not designed with you in mind.

At first glance, the supported weight of the benches might seem a little underwhelming, but remember, three sections, 551 pounds each, so this bench can actually support 1653 pounds of total weight.

It doesn’t really matter who you are or how much you weigh. You can almost certainly manage to fit onto a bench with that kind of supported weight limit. Even better, it’s wide enough that your friends and family can join you!

The table that accompanies the set is sturdy and attractive but a very basic design. Made of acacia wood that matches the frame of the furniture itself, it’s attractive and functional. A great addition to the set, but there’s nothing remarkable about it. No one is going to look at this set and think, “Oh! What a great table! I’ve got to have this set!” It’s good but designed along purely conventional lines.

Adjustability and Comfort

None of the pieces offered in the Best Choice Products 4-piece Acacia outdoor furniture set are adjustable in any way, so there’s nothing to say about that topic. Comfort-wise, Best Products sticks to the basics, offering conventional block foam as padding in the seat and seatback pads.

There’s nothing wrong with this in the least. Block foam is pretty much the industry standard and is found in most of the furniture being sold today.

Even better, since each seating component was intended to hold up to 551 pounds, there’s quite a lot of padding present, making these benches more than just occasional, short term seating solutions. You could actually spend an afternoon lounging comfortably here, and that’s a very good thing.

The seats and seat pads are upholstered with a polyester filament-based fabric that’s weather-resistant, quick-drying, and durable. Unfortunately, it’s not machine washable. When it gets dirty, you’ll need to just wipe it down with a damp cloth and clean it with a mild detergent.

Let’s talk about dirt for a moment. The upholstery is off-white. The outside is…well, it’s full of dirt, so your pretty upholstery is going to get dirty. Frequently.

Being off-white, unless you’ve got your furniture positioned in a sheltered area on your deck, porch or patio, it’s going to require a lot of ongoing maintenance. That’s’ certainly not a deal-breaker, but it is something to be mindful of. If you want to keep your set looking as good as the one shown in the sales pictures, that’s going to take some effort and be an ongoing battle.

Finally, note that you don’t get any throw pillows with this set. You’ll have to buy those separately if you want them. We regard that as a good thing, though, because you can introduce splashes of color that bring out your personality with the strategic addition of some outdoor throw pillows, and enhance the comfort offered by the set at the same time. Those are good things.

Assembly is Required

Most of the furniture you can buy online these days comes unassembled, so it will probably surprise exactly no one to learn that if you order this set, it will arrive at your home in a trio of boxes and, you guessed it, unassembled.

The production quality is actually quite good for a Chinese import. You may have one or two places where things don’t line up quite as they should, but you won’t have many. Even better, the instructions that come with the set are reasonably clear and will help speed the process along.

One main gripe is that the set comes in three boxes. A four-piece set should come in four boxes, in our view. That way, all the pieces to assemble each component are in one place and not mixed in with some other component.

If and where they are, it needlessly drags the process out because the first thing you’ve got to do is to sort the pieces by component and work out which pieces go with what part. It’s time-consuming and annoying, and it’s easily solved if each component of the set has its own box.

Aside from that gripe, the assembly process really isn’t that bad. Expect it to take you about two hours from start to finish, and if you’d rather not be bothered with it at all, Best Products does offer an expert assembly option.

Unless you’re just dead set against putting your own furniture together or you simply can’t spare two hours to get it done, we don’t recommend the expert assembly option here. We are very glad though that the company makes it available to those who want or need it.
