Are you tired of dealing with your chronic pain? Do you spend more time and money than you’d care to admit making trips to your local chiropractor’s office to relieve that pain or just to relax and unwind after a hectic work week? Wouldn’t it be great if you didn’t have to do that? If you could enjoy a world-class massage from the comfort of your home any time you wanted one?

If you answered yes to any of the questions above, then you’re going to love what you read in our iBooMas massage chair reviews. Yes, we said reviews because, in this piece, we’ll be looking at all three of the models this tiny company makes.

You would be absolutely forgiven if this is the first time you’ve ever heard the odd-sounding brand name because, as we mentioned, they are a tiny company with a small footprint in the massage chair market.

Small, however, doesn’t necessarily mean not worth taking a closer look at. One of the fantastic things about recent advances in technology is the fact that these days, anybody with a passion for a particular product, a clear vision, and access to the right technology can prototype and then quickly begin manufacturing almost anything.

We absolutely love that and the fact that across multiple industries, including the production of massage chairs, we’ve seen a number of incredibly innovative companies appear almost as if by magic. iBooMas is one of those companies, and make no mistake, these chairs are rock-solid designs, brimming with cool features you’ll love and high-value extras, too.

They’re not perfect, and in the iBooMas massage chair reviews that follow, we won’t hold back when it comes to singing the company’s praises and calling them out for shortcomings in their designs. If that sounds good to you, read on, and let’s take a closer look at exactly what each of the three models has to offer.

An Overview of iBooMas Full Body Massage Chairs

The first thing to note about this chair is the fact that the design team didn’t take any chances where aesthetics were concerned. All three of the models we’re looking at here—the R8601, R8603, and R8606—look identical to each other and almost exactly like some 90% of the massage chairs on the market today.

That is to say, they’re vaguely futuristic, kind of egg-shaped chairs.

In particular, iBooMas adopted a variant of Henry Ford’s philosophy in the case of these three models. You can have your massage chair in any color you want as long as it’s white.

That’s not terrible, as white goes with a lot of existing home décor schemes, but if white clashes with whatever your prevailing décor scheme is, and if you’re not a fan of futuristic-looking furniture, then you’re probably not going to be impressed by these chairs.

We think that will only apply to a slim minority of prospective buyers, but it’s something to keep in mind, and if you’re not a fan of the overall look and feel of these chairs, check out some of the designs by Human Touch. They’re more expensive chairs, but you’ll probably find them to be more to your liking.

Assuming you don’t find the aesthetics off-putting, the next thing to mention is that the three chairs we’ll be looking at in the iBooMas massage chair reviews you’ll find here is the fact that the models build features iteratively. What we mean by that is this:

The R8601 is the company’s least expensive chair. We’ll outline its feature set.

The R8603 is slightly more expensive than the 8601, has all the features of the 8601, and adds a few more. The same is true for the R8606. It’s got all the features of the 8601 and the 8603 and adds additional capabilities.

iBooMas Full Body Massage Chair R8606 model with labels of its dimensions

Our rating is based on the feature set of the R8606. The R8603 loses 0.1 stars, and the R8601 loses another 0.1 stars as each is slightly less capable than the model that comes after it.

All three models have the same dimensions, which are 29.8” W x 43.8” H x 60.4” when fully reclined. The R8603 weighs 197.6 pounds and 269 pounds for R8606 while being capable of supporting up to 330 pounds of user weight (300 pounds for R8603).

While there is no formal industry standard where maximum supported weight is concerned, if you do a broad survey of the market, you’ll find that the informal average is about 300 pounds. It’s not hard to find chairs that support more than this, and it’s not hard to find chairs that support less, but we tend to take a favorable view of any chair that sits above the average.

iBooMas does that. Granted, they’re not enormously above the average, but they do exceed it, making their chairs useful for a larger market segment.

That’s a good thing, and we love it.

The last thing to mention before we leave this section is that all three of the models we’re looking at in our iBooMas massage chair reviews are built with space-saving technology, so they only require 2” of clearance between the back of the seat and whatever wall you plan to place them near.

That’s a very good thing and makes it easy to find a permanent home for whichever chair you opt for.

The iBooMas SL Track Massage Chair is Built Using a Robust Set of Technologies

This section of our review has a lot to like. First, the massage track is impressively long at 53”.

An illustration of the SL track of iBooMas Massage Chair

That’s not the longest track in the industry, but it’s at the high end, and it allows the industry standard 3D quad rollers to render a world-class massage that starts at the tops of your shoulders and extends down the length of your back, then turns under the seat to give you a massage of your glutes and the backs of your thighs.

From there, the leg massage ports take over, giving you a massage of your calves and the soles of your feet.

These two segments of the massage system give you an expertly rendered full-body massage.

In addition to that, all three of the iBooMas models boast body scanning technology that’s quite good.

Each time you sit in the chair to get a massage, the chair will quietly scan your back and make adjustments to the position of the massage rollers to ensure they hit your back’s pressure points precisely.

Remote control of iBooMas Full Body Massage Chair

In the event that the body scanning tech gets it wrong, which happens now and again, you’ll find controls on the remote that enable you to manually reposition the rollers as needed.

This one-two punch provides a rock-solid solution that ensures you’re always getting the best massage these chairs are capable of giving.

The core technologies used in all three iBooMas models are state-of-the-art.

These chairs don’t live at the bleeding edge of the curve, but the simple fact is that they don’t need to live there in order to render a fantastic massage. We think the iBooMas design team made the right call here.

Our only real quibble with the core technologies lies in their use of a remote rather than a touchpad for the control system. Adding a touchpad wouldn’t have increased the cost of the design much and, in our view, would have made their product offerings even better.

It’s a small thing, and we doubt it will be a dealbreaker for anyone, but we’d love to see a touchpad incorporated into a future model update.

The iBooMas Massage Chair Boasts an Impressive Number of Massage Options For the Money

We were impressed by the number of massage options on offer on all three of these models, which offer the same suite of massage options.

In terms of techniques, you’ll find:

  • Guasa
  • Tapping
  • Shiatsu
  • Clapping
  • Knocking
  • And Kneading

This is standard fare for the most part. All three models feature the usual basic massage techniques you’d expect to see, plus one advanced technique in the form of Shiatsu. Almost every decent massage chair on the market offers that.

The real surprise, though, comes in the form of the Guasa technique. This is an ancient Chinese technique normally rendered by a human masseuse using a hard, smooth-edged scraping tool to treat chronic pain.

According to WebMD, there is some evidence that this technique offers genuine therapeutic benefits, especially for chronic pain sufferers or those who suffer from migraines on a regular basis.

We were pleasantly surprised to see this unusual massage technique on offer here, and we want to give a shout-out to the iBooMas design team for really going the extra mile.

Kudos!

Printed pre-programmed massage options encircling the iBooMas Full Body Massage Chair

It doesn’t stop there, however. You’ll also find a dozen different pre-programmed massage options on offer. These include:

  • Master
  • Sleep
  • Slim
  • Relaxing
  • Sport Care
  • Stretch
  • Spa
  • Soft
  • Refreshing
  • Spine Care
  • Waist and Back
  • And Neck and Shoulder

There are some excellent options here, and even if you have some fairly specific needs where massage is concerned, you’ll almost certainly want to experiment with all of these to discover which ones you like best.

Note that the stretch routine is quite aggressive and may be too intense for you, but it does an admirable job of replicating the “adjustment” you get when you pay a visit to your local chiropractor’s office and is another feature that offers genuine therapeutic value.

If you suffer from chronic pain, the Stretch or Spine Care routines will likely be the ones you gravitate to most often.

They’re both exceptional!

It gets better, though, because, in addition to having so many different options for the money, all three of the iBooMas models offer spot and partial modes and allow you to adjust your massage intensity via six different levels from the remote.

That gives you quite a bit of flexibility in terms of personalizing and customizing your massage experience, and at maximum intensity, this chair is capable of rendering a deep tissue massage, which gives it yet another therapeutic benefit.

Three Zero-G Seating Options Are Included

We love the fact that all three of these models offer three different Zero-G seating options. In our view, it’s a feature that doesn’t get enough attention.

An illustration of the three Zero Gravity positions of iBooMas Massage Chair

Inspired by NASA, it really does leave you feeling weightless, but that’s not why the feature is so important. Studies have shown that spending time every day sitting in a Zero-G position will lower your blood pressure and improve your circulation.

Also, if you have surgery of one kind or another, time spent in a Zero-G seating position will help facilitate faster healing, so it’s actually quite a remarkable feature.

Even better, iBooMas really went above and beyond here because you almost never see three different seating options offered on chairs at this price range. Once again, kudos to the design team!

Before we leave this section, there is one more thing we should point out. Earlier, we mentioned that this chair was capable of giving a quite good deep tissue massage. You can use a simple “hack” to make it even better and more intense if the pressure isn’t enough for you, even on the maximum setting.

Before you order your massage, place the chair in one of the three Zero-G seating positions. Your body’s own weight will press you more firmly against the seatback, allowing the rollers to get even deeper. It’s a small difference, but it is noticeable and serves as a way of getting slightly more performance out of your chair.

Heat is Included in Two of the Three Models

Although heat is not included in the least expensive (R8601) model, it is included in the other two and is quite good. In our view, it’s absolutely worth spending a little extra and getting the offered heat, though you will want to consider what your needs are in that department.

Lumbar and calf heating locations in the iBooMas Full Body Massage Chair

The reason for this is that the R8603 offers lumbar and footwell heat (for the soles of your feet), while the R8606 offers lumbar and calf heat.

If you suffer chronic leg pain, you’ll probably prefer the 8606, but if you have a job that sees you on your feet for most of the day, the 8603’s footwell heat may be just the thing to soothe your aching feet when you get home.

Here, we have another minor quibble. Given that each of the three models builds on the earlier one, we’d love to see the 8606 include heat in the lumbar, calf, and foot regions rather than just swapping the calf and foot.

The other minor gripe we’ve got is that we wish there were some mechanism for precisely controlling the temperature of the offered heat.

Admittedly, neither of these complaints is serious, and we don’t think that anyone will consider the absence of either to be deal breakers, but both are on our wish list for future model improvements!

All Three iBooMas Models Feature An Airbag Massage

It would be doing a disservice to iBooMas to say that the design team just phoned the implementation of the airbag massage in. They didn’t.

An illustration of the airbags, heat, and foot rollers of the iBooMas Massage Chair

The airbag massage is quite good and competently implemented. There’s not a thing in the world wrong with it, and in fact, you can choose from three different intensity levels and, from the remote, selectively activate airbags by the following body regions:

  • Shoulders
  • Arms
  • Feet
  • And Calves

All of that is fine, but there’s nothing we’d describe as special about the iBooMas airbag massage.

That’s okay, too. There certainly doesn’t have to be a whiz-bang aspect to each and every feature on offer, but at the same time, we can’t imagine that any prospective buyer will want one of these chairs solely on the basis of the quality of its airbag massage. It’s just not that kind of feature.

Still, we’re glad it’s present and readily acknowledge that the designers did a good job on implementation.

All Three Models Offer a Very Good Calf and Foot Massage

An illustration of the airbags and rollers of iBooMas Full Body Massage Chair's foot and calf massage

If you’re on your feet for a significant portion of each day, then the calf and foot massage is apt to be your favorite feature of the chair.

Rendered with a combination of airbags and foot rollers (airbags in both the calf massage ports and the footwells and rollers in the footwells for the soles of your feet), the calf and foot massage feels amazing.

Here though, we’ll note that if you’re considering buying one of these specifically for the calf and foot massage, you’re almost certainly going to want to spend a little more to get access to the heated calf or footwells, depending on your specific needs.

The addition of heat really takes the calf and foot massage to the next level, and you’re going to love it.

You Get High-Value Extras Too!

Normally, off-brands tend to skimp on extras, but iBooMas is a pleasant surprise in that regard, bucking the trend. You’ll find a number of high-value extras on all three of these chairs.

Phone connectivity, voice control, and USB charging port of iBooMas Massage Chair

Here are the ones that all three models have in common:

  • Bluetooth Speakers
  • Negative Ion Air Therapy
  • A USB Charging Port
  • And a built-in massage timer that allows you to set the duration of any massage from 5 to 30 minutes in five-minute increments

If you decide you want the R8603 model, then in addition to the above, you’ll also get voice activation control, which is not only high-value but incredibly handy to boot!

If you opt for the R8606, in addition to all of the above, you’ll also get a sixth strength level, a secondary control panel on the chair arm, and an app you can use to control the chair.

Again, these are superb additions. We love them, and we think you will too.

Pros & Cons of iBooMas Full Body Massage Chair

We only have one major complaint about the chairs offered by iBooMas. Since it’s a small company, they have limited post-sales support capabilities. That’s it. That’s the only major concern we’ve got.

The other gripes we mentioned over the course of this review are honestly nits. For example, we said that we’d love to see temperature control for the offered heat, and we would!

That would be fantastic, but the reality is that almost no company (including big-name brands) offers that feature. It’s vanishingly rare, and since that’s true, we can’t really hold it against iBooMas.

That would be essentially holding them to a higher standard than the rest of the industry, and it wouldn’t be fair.

On the other hand, there’s a lot to like here—from the raft of extras on offer, some really good massage techniques, and a surprising number of therapeutic benefits for a chair offered at this price point. It’s a rare thing indeed when you can get so many therapeutic features for so little money, and that’s awesome.

iBoomas Massage Chair Reviews Conclusion

We absolutely recommend the R8603 and R8606 models offered by iBooMas. They’re amazing chairs that offer a ton of value for the money.

While we like the R8601, we consider it to be the base model, and for not much more money, you can get a significantly better chair by upgrading to either of the other two models.

The bottom line is that these chairs belong on your short list of options to consider, especially if you have a therapeutic need. Highly recommended.
