Has your quest for a decent new chair for your home office left you feeling frustrated? Have you been distinctly underwhelmed by the options you’ve found so far?
Do you wish you could find a good quality chair with at least a little style and pizzazz that won’t break the bank?
If you answered yes to any of those questions, you will like what you read in our in-depth review of the TOPSKY High Back Executive Office Chairs.
About the TOPSKY Brand
Haven’t heard of TOPSKY? We’d be surprised if you had. The company admits to being young and untested in its marketing materials, but it builds surprisingly good furniture for the money. We love (almost) all their designs, and we think you will too!
Of course, given that TOPSKY offers value-priced furniture, you know the score. The company builds relatively feature-rich products everyone wants, but sacrifices have to be made somewhere to keep the price low. In the world of value-priced furniture, the sacrifice is inevitably in the quality of the materials used and the overall production value of the chairs they make.
Here, though, TOPSKY seems to have found the sweet spot. Sure, their products are built with materials at the lower end of the spectrum. Still, they’re more robust and of better quality than you’d expect, as evidenced by the fact that the company stands behind its products, offering an impressive one-year warranty.
Unlike many companies that offer a wide range of slightly different chairs, TOPSKY takes a more minimalist approach. There are only three Executive Office chairs, one task chair, and one gaming chair.
We like that. It allows them to spend more time improving that handful of models rather than dividing their attention among more products than they can effectively manage. It’s a smart move.
In the following sections, we’ll describe the company’s various chairs. Even if you opt to go in another direction, you’ll agree that these are impressive products for the money!
About TOPSKY Office Chairs
When we first saw the TOPSKY office chairs, their innovative designs stood out.
While this is a young company and brand, its design team has real talent. They make solid products for the money, and their designs are striking and, in some cases, even bold.
Granted, sometimes they swing and miss (e.g., the Wave Chair, which we regard as a good try but an ultimately flawed design), but you can’t achieve greatness without taking a few risks. We sense that TOPSKY wants to be a great company, and we think they’re off to an outstanding start.
The second thing to talk about regarding the brand is that although the materials are still at the lower end of the spectrum, as you’d expect in bargain-priced furniture, they’re at the upper end of the lower part of the spectrum, which means they’re somewhat more robust than other bargain office chair manufacturers you may be considering.
This is expressed in two ways: First, note the maximum weight limits that these chairs support. Second, note the one-year product warranty, which is almost unheard of at the value end of the market. Put those two things together, and you get a surprisingly solid piece of furniture.
Granted, their Executive and Gaming chairs are upholstered with bonded leather, which will show their age relatively quickly. However, these chairs will stand up better for regular daily use than many other budget brands. That’s a very good thing.
Assembly is Required
Although this won’t come as much of a surprise to anyone who has ever bought budget-priced furniture, TOPSKY office chairs don’t come assembled. The argument could be made that TOPSKY furniture comes even less assembled than most others. You’ve got to put it all together from the ground up.
That’s neither good nor bad, but it’s something to be aware of. The assembly process isn’t especially tricky, and while the exact assembly time varies from one model to another, expect it to take the better part of an hour if you’re doing it solo and about thirty minutes if you have a trusty assistant.
Also note that if you’re doing it solo, there will be times when you’ll probably be tempted to use a bit of colorful language and find yourself wishing you had an extra pair of hands. It’s doable on your own; it’s more convenient with help.

TOPSKY Modern Executive Office Chair – Best Value
Recommended For: Anyone on a budget. This is an awesome chair.
The Modern Executive Office Chair isn’t the most expensive TOPSKY makes but can rightly be considered the company’s flagship model.
The first thing you’ll notice about this chair is that it’s amazingly stylish. At first glance, you’d think it was a much more expensive chair because, normally, value brands keep it simple. They stick with what works. They don’t take chances.
TOPSKY took an entirely different approach, and it paid off.
Their Modern Executive Office Chair is a fantastic, innovative design that borders on bold. It doesn’t feature a true racing-style seat, but it’s evident at a glance that gaming chairs inspired it with racing-style seats.
Although the padding is simple block foam, there’s a lot of it, and the TOPSKY High Back Racing Style PU Leather chair is more comfortable than you’d expect, given the price it’s being offered.
Even better, almost everything about it is adjustable. The seat can recline to an impressive 145 degrees and is lockable in various positions, and the seat height, as do the armrests and the headrest, has an impressive adjustment range.
In addition to being stylish and surprisingly comfortable, TOPSKY includes a full suite of ergonomic design features that enhance the chair’s comfort while encouraging better posture habits.
The company describes the base as chrome, but we’ll clarify before you get your hopes up. It’s tube steel with chrome plating sprayed over it. That’s still a cut above what you’d expect from bargain-priced furniture, but it’s not chrome. They couldn’t sell the chair at such a low price if it were.
The fact that it has a metal base rather than nylon explains why the model is more durable than many of the chairs it competes with and can support more than 300 pounds of user weight.
Although the TOPSKY High Back Racing Chair is capable of standing up to regular moderate to heavy daily use, there are two things to be mindful of:
First, since the base is chrome-plated, be careful about knocking the chair against other furniture or kicking the base, as it will cause the chrome to begin flaking off. Second, the upholstery is bonded leather.
Leather in any form is good, but bonded leather is at the lower end of the spectrum.
It’s made of fused leather scraps, and as such, it’s not as sturdy and is less supple than grain leather. It’ll show its age more quickly than you’d like.
Given the modest asking price, most people can live with those limitations.
TOPSKY “Wave” Executive Office Chair
The company’s most expensive chair, the Wave, shares several features with their Modern Executive Office chair, including a bold, innovative design. Unfortunately, in this case, we feel that it missed the mark.
Not only does the Wave chair not look less aesthetically appealing, but the Wave cushions are less comfortable than TOPSKY had hoped. Sure, the TOPSKY Racing Gaming Chair has generous amounts of block foam padding and ergonomic design features, but in this instance, the implementation was much less than it could have been.
This design is supposed to strengthen the chair’s ergonomic aspects and provide added comfort. In our view, it’s a bit like sitting on a lumpy mattress. The chair is well padded but not as comfortable as possible, mostly due to the “waves” it offers.
In our TOPSKY Gaming Chair review, we’ll be quick to say, though, that some people may love its look and feel, so it’s worth checking out to see how you feel about it.
Besides our issues with the overall design and the comfort, we readily admit that it’s a solid, well-built chair. The Wave is even sturdier than the company’s flagship model, its chrome-plated aluminum base capable of supporting users weighing up to four hundred pounds.
Like the flagship model, it can recline to a maximum of 145 degrees and is generally capable of withstanding the rigors of heavy daily use. However, the bonded leather upholstery will likely start showing its age even faster on this model than on the others the company sells.
TOPSKY “New Type” Executive Office Chair – Overall Best
The “New Type” Executive Office Chair is rugged, durable, and can support a surprising amount of weight. Recommended for heavier users.
This model’s existence is probably what impresses us more than anything about TOPSKY. This is why we feel that they’re here to stay and will grow to become a well-known, well-respected brand in the value segment of the office furniture market.
The “New Type” features much more conventional styling and offers the best of both worlds: a synthesis of features from the Modern and Wave chairs, with a surprise thrown in for good measure.
We regard the Wave chair as a swing and a miss, and apparently, so did a broad swath of the market. So…the company redesigned the chair, showing a fair amount of nimbleness and demonstrating that they’re learning quickly.
The base of this chair has been upgraded from aluminum to light-grade steel, finished with chrome plating, which makes it even more capable of enduring the rigors of everyday use than the models we’ve discussed so far.
As before, however, we’ll caution potential buyers about banging the base against other furniture or kicking it, as the chrome plating will flake off easily.
The big surprise and best addition of this model, though, is the seat. It offers generous amounts of block foam padding and a waterfall seat design, and this model also features support springs in the seat cushion like you’d find in a mattress.
It’s a nice touch that adds to the overall level of comfort.
Combine that with the adjustable ergonomic headrest and the extra wide (5”!) height-adjustable padded armrests, and it’s hard not to like this chair!
Note: This model is available in either brown or black.
TOPSKY Mesh Office Chair
Recommended For: Anyone seeking an ergonomic mesh chair for under $200.
TOPSKY again demonstrates its excellent design philosophy with this simple mesh office chair.
On the face of it, there doesn’t appear to be much to recommend it. It’s mesh, and sure, it has a breathable fabric and a well-padded seat cushion, but at first glance, you might be tempted to give this one a pass.
Look more closely, however, and it offers the same 145-degree recline angle as the company’s more expensive chairs and height-adjustable armrests.
In our TOPSKY Mesh Computer Office Chair review, we would like to point out that the chair also features an articulated ergonomic headrest and an independently adjustable lumbar support pillow, which allows you to tweak the level of support it provides, tailoring it to your needs. That’s amazing, given its modest price.
Not many models that cost three or four times what this one does offer features like that, which makes this an exceptional find for people who are buying a chair specifically with exceptional ergonomic features in mind.
Like the other models we’ve discussed, it has a chrome-plated aluminum base, so it’s reasonably well-equipped to withstand the rigors of moderate to heavy daily use.
If you spend hours in front of your computer and are looking for a bargain-priced office chair with excellent ergonomic features, the TOPSKY Mesh Computer Chair is the one you want. Note, however, that you will give up a bit where aesthetics is concerned.
TOPSKY Gaming Chair
TOPSKY scores again with another brilliant, innovative design. Their gaming chair is out of this world. Unfortunately, it’s not for everyone.
The company’s design centers on the bucket-style seat, which offers a full range of well-implemented ergonomic supports plus an extra lumbar support pillow and an extra headrest pillow (both of these “extra” pillows are removable, of course).
TOPSKY offered this model in three different color combinations:
- Aquamarine + black + white,
- Grey + black + white, or
- Red + black + white.
It has a bold, exciting look that suits the younger generation but may struggle to blend well with most home décor schemes.
Even so, the TOPSKY Racing Computer Gaming Chair is delightfully well-padded (conventional block foam) with comfortable armrests, a fantastic maximum recline angle, and a built-in hideaway ottoman that allows you to stretch out and relax, or even take short naps in the chair if you so desire.
Note: It’s comfortable enough for short naps, but this isn’t a chair you’d want to try spending the night in.
All that sounds fantastic. But there’s a catch.
To keep the costs down, the company had to switch away from their chrome-plated aluminum base and to a nylon base, which means that this model isn’t as durable and can’t support quite as much weight as the other chairs in the TOPSKY lineup.
Even so, if you’re young and hip and looking for an amazing, comfortable gaming chair, and if you are 5’11” or shorter and don’t exceed this model’s maximum weight limit, you’ll probably love this chair!
That’s a fair number of “ifs” strung together, indicating that this model, unlike the rest of the company’s product line, is more narrowly targeted.
That’s not necessarily a bad thing, but the TOPSKY High Back Racing Style chair is something to be aware of because if you fall outside those parameters, this chair just isn’t going to work for you.
Pros & Cons of TOPSKY Office Chairs
Here are the things we think you’ll like best about the TOPSKY brand in general:
Here are a few things that might give you pause:
Overall, we think the pros outweigh the cons, but we realize that everyone is different, and some negatives might be deal breakers for you.
TOPSKY High Back Executive Office Chairs Review – Conclusion
In our view, most of the TOPSKY High-Back Executive Office Chairs (with the exception of the Wave chair) are exceptional value for the money, and even the Wave Chair will have its share of fans, although we stand by our conclusion that it’s the weakest member of the company’s product line.
If you’re on a budget and looking for a reasonably comfortable office chair with surprisingly good quality, TOPSKY chairs are well worth considering.
We recommend the entire line, though we note that the two standout models the company offers are the “Modern” Executive Office Chair, which provides the best value, and the “New Type,” which is the company’s best-selling chair overall.
